The California Athleisure Tradeshow
Active Collective began in 2014 as a sub-category on the show floor of the Swim Collective tradeshow in Huntington Beach, California. Active Collective became a standalone trade show in 2015, making it the first and only activewear and athleisure trade show in the United States.
In response to demand from manufacturers and buyers, Active Collective made its east coast debut in early 2017, in New York.
Lifestyle Driven Fashion
Living a healthy lifestyle through diet and exercise has become a lifestyle trend, and has resulted in a surge in lifestyle-focused fitness programs. Manufacturers have responded with performance-focused functional apparel for specific categories. Over time these designs have become increasingly fashion influenced and that fashion has spilled over from the studios to the streets.
Athleisure is now a standalone category in the clothing industry. Consumers continue to respond positively the athleisure category where they can find comfort, fashion and performance, while associating the look with their active lifestyle choice.
A Vibrant, Growing Active Apparel Marketplace
Showcasing over 250 brands, the Active Collective trade show features a wide range of products from the fitness fashion marketplace including active performance, active apparel, yoga fashion apparel, accessories, and footwear. More than 1,000 buyers from the United States and abroad attend each show.
A core theme of the show is quality over quantity, and the show team curates the balance of buyers to brands to represent the best of where fashion meets fitness.
In 2016 Active Collective was acquired by Emerald Expositions, the largest operator of business-to-business trade shows in the United States, with its oldest trade shows dating back over 110 years. The company operates more than 50 trade shows, including 31 of the top 250 trade shows in the country as ranked by TSNN, as well as numerous other events.
